2022-2023 Spring/Summer Color Trends: Let's Chat! Part 1

This 2022–2023 color archive looks at two contrasting directions: the purple-pink shade described here as Phalaenopsis, and deep Atlantic Blue. Treat them as palette inspiration from that period. They can help organize a jewelry display, but a color forecast does not tell a retailer which exact bracelet or necklace will sell.
Phalaenopsis: make the accent intentional
The original palette describes a saturated mix of purple, rose and magenta. On a small stone, this can read quite differently from the same hue on a dress. Rather than trying to match every surface, choose one visible accent: a colored pendant against a neutral blouse, a bracelet beside a simple sleeve, or earrings that repeat one color in a printed outfit.
For a coordinated rail, set the jewelry beside actual fabric swatches. A purple-pink stone with a warm metal finish creates a different combination from the same stone in a silver-colored setting. Decide which combination supports the clothes you stock, then keep that finish consistent across the small group of accessories.
Atlantic Blue: build around a deeper base
A deep blue garment leaves room for either a clear-stone contrast or a related blue accent. Clear stones can keep the jewelry separate from the garment; blue stones can continue the color story. If the garment is already patterned, try a smaller necklace or a single bracelet before adding several competing pieces.
Blue is also useful as the darker element in a display that includes pale or bright colors. Place the darker garment behind the lighter jewelry so shoppers can see its outline. Avoid assuming that a photo of a blue stone is an exact reference for its production color.
A practical two-color sample board
- Use one neutral garment swatch as a shared background.
- Place a magenta-family sample and a deep-blue sample beside it.
- Compare both in daylight and in the lighting used in your store.
- Record the selected stone code and metal finish separately.
The useful decision is whether each sample has a clear role in your assortment. Browse colored CZ necklace and pendant designs, then continue with the warmer tones in Part 2 of this color archive.
